There are 3 great reasons to book your senior pictures this spring – I know, I know…you are saying – I’d prefer a fall session, or the school will do them in the summer. Or even, I don’t think I’ll care about senior pictures in the spring.
Hold on! First, you are NOT tied to the school’s photographer. Do not let the school tell you when YOU should have your senior photos done. Remember, when you book your senior pictures is UP TO YOU.

I really never understood why the schools would start senior photos in June of their junior year. Really? Yup, many, many schools do that with the school photographer. Others bring kids into the school gym before school starts in August. Why? Because it works for THEIR schedule. And they want to double duty those photos with the school ID cards.
It’s our choice, summer before is popular…and I do a lot of seniors in August, especially if they know they will have a busy fall – sports or such can take a lot of personal time off their availability. So August-Dec are popular here in Virginia for senior pictures.
But on the other side, a LOT can change in a year. Besides the outward facing possibilities, senior year matures you. Big decisions are being made, so there is a LOT of stress. That maturity will show in you, so think about how you want to look in your images.
So give some thought to how you want to look before your book your senior pictures.

I think this one speaks for itself. But take it one step further – in the spring you will know what your fall plans will be. You have the chance to incorporate college spirit wear or a uniform that represents your next steps. Win-win, right?

Celebrate. Decisions made. No more applications – all that’s left is to actually wear the cap and gown and buy new sheets for your new dorm room. It’s a whole new season…literally! And one that has a lot less stress in it for you.
And if you have not had your senior photos done yet, and you are approaching graduation this spring…well, make mom & dad and grandpa and grandma happy and get these photos done. This is a milestone – you’ve spent 12 years studying for this milestone, and your future is bright. Everyone wants to celebrate with you, and remember this important time.
It’s true, these are the last school photos. Your next photos will be about business headshots, LinkedIn profiles, and business websites. But something for your family, to remember that smile and personality while you go off and start your next journey, well, that is what senior pictures are actually FOR.
