Senior boy pictures here are easy – trust me!
Seriously, I love working the senior boys and I know other photographers might say otherwise, but even when it’s a bit of a challenge, it typically ends up as a favorite session for me!
This handsome guy came to the studio for a premium session so we could take advantage of both the Indoor Studio (great for hot days, and when we want even more control of lighting) and the outdoor Portrait Park. Jack had his trumpet, and a great selection of clothing options so I had lots of options of what to use in the full outdoor park!
The new white wood wall was a perfect backdrop and I love the look Jack gave me in this one…
Bring more to your senior session, not less…
The more you can bring to your senior session, the better. For senior boys, I always suggest comfortable and casual clothes along with anything fancier that mom wants. The comfy clothes help the senior guy relax in the session, and also acknowledge who they are, which is the point of the senior portrait session after all!
Jack had his trumpet, and he actually used it in the outdoor Portrait Park AND the indoor studio. Why not? Again, the more you bring, the more options we can have in the images we create together.
These areas work great for more options in your session
Every senior is different, so every senior session is different. But I love finding new ways to use all the spaces I have here and LOVE when new ideas come out of a session because of something the senior did, or brought with them. The white wall pictured above is one of my favorites because it goes with ANYTHING you might bring, but that just inspires me to find other textures and styles for walls and “scenes” that give similar results. I’m always on the look out for new props and backdrops to add here!
The Portrait Park is coming to life this year once again, and with all the new backdrops, both natural and man made, I have something for just about everyone. I hope you’ll come and check it out.
