Yes, families grow and change – kids get older, but the family itself changes as the kids become adults and bring new family into the group.
When I first met this family for Morganne’s senior portraits years ago I knew they were a great family. Morganne was so easy to work with, and has such a beautiful smile. And her EYES are amazing. I was honored to be able to photograph the entire family last month and to help them select images they would put on their walls and love forever. Take a peek at the family’s newest memories!
I’m always careful to grab multiple “set ups” of family members – in small groups, and even individuals. I want parents to have lots of options for wall groupings, family albums, gift prints, etc.
A photo of mom and daughter, dad and daughter, is so valuable in future years. And individual images are a great for sharing on social media, business bios, college apps, etc. Everyone needs a great photo of themselves, and in every session there is time to grab these too.
And let’s not forget those parents…the kids may grow up and move on to new adult lives, but the parents likely haven’t updated their images of just themselves since their own wedding day. Don’t wait until your kids get married, let’s get images of the parents too!
Families grow – physical the kids get bigger and older. But then the dynamics change too when the kids become adults, and meet others who will join your family also. While these are wonderful changes, they change many dynamics and so it’s always a good idea to grab the family “image” before the family changes.
Don’t regret NOT having the photos, take the family pictures now, before your family changes.
