2021 – a beautiful Spring in the Portrait Park

This Portrait Park has so much to offer – and look what just arrived and was set up yesterday!

A new all metal gazebo… (if you love it, check out amazon because it was a really good deal) – but head’s up – you really need two people to set it up.

This portrait park is a lot of work, but it’s totally worth it. Because it’s also on our property, everything we do to make it beautiful just gives us more pretty to see everyday.

Although a bit of a challenge to assemble, it’s there and ready for pretty pictures. I’ve decided to leave this one bare – meaning no flowers will grow on it. I think it makes a cleaner scene in this setting, and fits with the rustic look of the rock wall and pond background.

What is a portrait park?

I’ve put this place together for outdoor photos. Basically I wanted a location for photos that gave me some control. Control over light, location specifics (like what to expect), opportunity to use props, smoke bombs, lighting, etc. Whatever I wanted to do, I wanted to control it.

So the Portrait Park was born in 2010. And it’s evolved since them to include so much more! See a little bit of it in this YouTube video —HERE.
