I offer three types of traditional sessions – the Single Exposure, the Double Exposure, & Multiple Exposure. All are basically defined by the length and number of sessions you need. Corporate clients needing digital headshots should consider the Digital 1 or Digital 2 session which are mini sessions and include one or two full resolution digital files respectively.
Single Exposure – One session, up to two hours in length – one location or in studio
Double Exposure – Two sessions, up to two hours in length each – second session must be booked within 6 months of the first session.
Multiple Exposure – Three sessions, up to two hours in length each – second and third sessions must be booked within 9 months of the first session.
Your session pricing is dependent on two things – the number of subjects & the number of sessions. Going off those two basic parts of most sessions, I’ve simplified my session pricing…but still allowed you to “scale” your sessions for maximum savings and to fit your own needs.
The basics to understand about my sessions -
- They can be either in studio OR on location (in some cases multiple “locations” if they are near enough to each other), not both unless you go Double Exposure or Multiple Exposure
- They are up to two hours in length unless otherwise specified (Partial Exposure sessions are mini sessions)
- They all include an online viewing gallery with up to 20 proofs from each two hour session, sometimes more
- The online gallery is “live” for two weeks, after two weeks there is a fee to re-host a gallery
From this basic chart of session types all types of sessions can be purchased – here are some examples:
A newborn session is typically a family session, one time – so it is typically a Single Exposure- Family Session. But you can turn that into a Single Exposure- Family PREMIUM to get more for your money.
And for high school seniors, you have the option of Single Exposure – One Person if you only want studio time, or just one session of location shots. But if you want to have a session in the fall for yearbook shots and then maybe one in the spring of your senior year, you can do the Double Exposure – One Person. Or go with a Multiple Exposure – One Person and get THREE sessions of time, any way you want them. Make your session type Premium and save LOTS on session fees and prints too!
I’m happy to help you understand this structure better, so please call me so I can help you find the session type that works for your needs!
There are separate pages for the specialty sessions that further describe how the different session types are most frequently used. I’m happy to answer questions, or to help you understand the overview if necessary.
So – what’s the real benefit of PREMIUM?
Premium looks like a LOT of money, doesn’t it? So I need to explain why it’s a benefit. When you book a Basic Session, you are paying me a session fee for my “time and talent”. Basically, after the session you will be able to order a la carte at retail prices, or purchase my Basic Print Package and then add on desk prints at 20% off retail prices. There are no further discounts on wall prints, design items, etc. And you have paid the full session fee.
So why PREMIUM? If you do a little homework BEFORE your session, and give some planning to what you want from your session, you can easily do the math – so here’s a sample scenario:
A family wants a Single Exposure Session. They can book a Basic Session and pay $150 to me to reserve their time and hold their session. They can then order a la carte at full retail, or order the Basic Print Package and then add on some additional prints, but there are no additional discounts. If you aren’t sure what you need, or think you only want a few photos from your session, this might be your best bet.
But think about this: The same family takes the Single Exposure – Family, PREMIUM session and pays me $400* upfront. They receive a print credit for $325* to use on any items they wish after their session – the credits spend like cash with my offerings. So immediately, they’ve saved $75 in the session fee. Then, they are eligible for 20% off DESK AND WALL prints – so their entire print credit, if all used on prints, will actually spend like it was $390!!!! In addition, I’m offering a 10% discount off design items such as cards, storyboards and books to all PREMIUM customers, and a bonus gift of 50% off any one 10×20 or 12×12 storyboard! So by planning ahead, this family saved BIG, and had more of their $ given back to them to spend on prints.
GET IT? I hope so….
(*this scenario is for a Single Exposure Family, but each different session type has it’s own fees and credits associated to it, so please be sure to check the overview)
Why is the PREMIUM buy in so high for Double and Multiple Exposure sessions? That one is easy – because I’m doing TWO or THREE FULL sessions for you – and you’ll have twice or three times as many proofs to purchase from – so in those cases, you will really benefit from the 20% discount on prints! In the Multiple Exposure Premium sessions, you’ll end up with quite a bit MORE print credit then you paid for! WIN WIN!
I’m always available for further explanation, or clarification of my programs. PLEASE ask if you don’t understand any of my offerings!
