So the session is over and you need to know what the next steps are for viewing and ordering your images. Chances are, we discussed some of this at the end of your session, but it’s hard to remember all the details, so I put them down in one place for you here.
First step – Viewing your gallery
Your gallery link will be emailed to you shortly after your session. Normal lead times can be up to two weeks in the busy season, but in most cases a sneak peek of at least one of your session images will appear on my blog and you will be notified of that via email. The photos on the blog are selected for marketing purposes, as the blog is a tool for advertising my business. Images shown on the blog will be watermarked and resized for the web, some might even have edge effects or color treatments. As always, all images are copyright protected and any screen shots, right clicks, etc is a violation of Federal Copyright Law and I have to ask that you refrain from doing this or allowing anyone in your family to do this with the images presented on the blog or in your gallery.
Your gallery is presented in an online shopping cart format. This allows you to mark favorites and see pricing at the same time. All your options for purchasing are on the right side of your screen in drop down boxes. You may share your gallery with family and friends and also register on the site to get all the latest updates and notification of gallery expiration, etc.
Watermarks are randomly placed by a batch process, so I do not control where they end up and I apologize for this making it difficult to see your image at times. I’d love to live in a world where it wasn’t necessary to watermark images in an online gallery, but the best way to view your images without markings is to ask for an in person viewing time. Again, I apologize that I had to show my galleries in this fashion.
Not all your images have been fully edited for skin, etc in your gallery. Usually a few have been “treated” or “edited” and these are typically noted by the word “-edit” after the filename. If you wish to see one edited that isn’t, please ask.
A typical gallery of proofs will have approximately 30+ images (or more) from a two hour session. If your session was a combination session (yearbook & senior casual), you might see 40+ images in your gallery including your yearbook proofs. If you purchased a mini session, you will see up to 10 proofs in your gallery (in some cases, more).
All gallery images are kept on file for 60 days following a session date. Only ORDERED images are kept on file after 60 days, and then only for 6 months following your session date. If you are uncomfortable with your images being deleted, please consider purchasing the digital files from your session to keep as your personal “negatives” from your session.
With your gallery access information you will receive a link to a .pdf of information on how to use the shopping cart, common questions, etc. But as always, please feel free to call me anytime with questions!
